Why do we have so many Programming Languages ?

by moodyharsh 2016-07-22

First there were many hardwares.
So we had a few.
Some wanted funny looking variables.
So we had Perl.
Then we had many paradigms.
So we had more.
Some complained about performance.
So we had a few more.
What about concurrency, What about maintenance ?
Oh well, some more.

How does everyone communicate with each other ?

Can’t we have a language that can imitate any hardware,
have any syntax, use any paradigm ?
Of course. Use Lisp.
But which Lisp ?

How can a person master this craft, it is too long … too ardous.
Just use functions, for they are universal.
